Fleur de Lis Quad
One of the most popular symbols of New Orleans, the fleur de lis inspired this painting. Entrenched in the history of the city, the fleur de lis is found in the wrought iron patterns decorating the balconies and fences of the French Quarter and Garden District. After Hurricane Katrina, the symbol was paired with the rallying cry of "Rebuild, Rebirth, Renew". As the city moves forward, it will become a beautiful symbol for still another generation to appreciate.
Its quarter panels are painted muted red, blue, yellow and green. The painting technique used is symbolic of the cobblestone banquettes, which can still be found in older areas of the city.
Double-signed, A Certificate of Authenticity and Artist’s Statement are also included.
Each of our paintings is an original. However, I would be happy to create a similar custom one for you . |
